Heal2Soul is seeking an independent contractor for a 12 month maternity leave position in the Blacktown and Penrith areas of NSW. We are seeking an experienced clinician familiar with child protection systems and programs to support staff within services in the child protection sphere working with families at the intersection of child protection, adverse experiences and mental health needs. The position also provides time limited therapy to parents accessing those services to support crisis management, safety and stabilisation, trauma and mental health psychoeducation in the context of parenting, trauma and mental health vulnerabilities.

The position is for 12 hours (service/client facing) a fortnight providing in person consultation and therapy on Wednesdays with 8 hours one week and 4 the next week. Additional administration hours are also paid as well as an allowance for external supervision. Internal supervision will be provided monthly also.

Position is initially for 12 months with potential for ongoing employment following this period

About You

- Counsellors and Psychotherapists to have Clinical registration with PACFA or ACA Level 4 registration. Psychologists to be fully registered with APS, Mental Health Accredited Social Workers to have registration with AASW, Expressive and Creative Therapists to have Clinical registration with PACFA or Professional registration with ANZACATA

- Available to work Wednesdays in person, must be able to travel to Blacktown and Penrith areas of NSW on this day. Working hours are 8:30am-5pm one week, 4 hours the second week can be 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm. Non contact administration time can be taken any time in the week as convenient

- Insurance, ABN, current WWCC and police check

- Experience working with child protection vulnerabilities in the context of mental health and adverse experience including intergenerational trauma and culturally appropriate practices

- Knowledge of child protection systems and appropriate legislation

- Experience working from a relational and systems lens as well as from an attachment and neurobiological lens

- Experience of delivering short term psychological interventions designed to support safety and stabilisation or crisis management

Desirable;

- Experience in supporting staff in the field of child protection and knowledge of the complexity of voluntary services in this area

- Supervisor credentials or experience in supporting teams
